How to Tell When It’s Time to Move House

Moving to a new house is a huge decision. Sometimes it’s difficult to know when it’s the right move and when it’s just too much stress for what its worth. Regardless of whether you decide to pack up and move out or to better work with the space you have, Rose Removals can help with all of your house removal, storage and shipping needs. We can either handle the entire process for you, or just provide you with the packing materials.

Your living and storage needs are changing

Maybe your family is growing: you’ve recently had a child or have just moved in with your partner. Or perhaps your parents recently downsized their property or you’ve inherited a bunch of furniture and family heirlooms from a distant relative. Regardless of your situation, you are looking around and thinking, “this is not going to be enough space.”

A bigger house can certainly provide you with whatever number of bedrooms or amount of storage area you need. However, don’t feel like you need to move into a new house just to get some additional space. Consider a storage unit—either kept on-site or at our Devon facility—and you can make your existing space feel brand new once you’ve removed all of the “extras” that you may be holding onto.

You’ve recently accepted a new job

If so, congratulations! A bigger salary can be a great time to upgrade your home or neighbourhood. Or perhaps you’ve been offered your dream job abroad. If you will be gone for the long-term, make sure you get professional assistance with an overseas removal. Or, if it’s a short-term position, you may want to consider placing your items in storage until you come back—after all, you won’t want to be paying two full rents during the time you are gone!

Your environment no longer fits your needs

Things change over time. Neighbourhoods grow and evolve. New schools and restaurants open up. Family needs and obligations arise. Or perhaps it’s your current house that no longer fits your need; maybe it requires too much upkeep, or the layout and design don’t really work for your family and lifestyle.

For any number of different reasons, your current location may no longer be “right,” and you need to move. Do you need to be closer to friends and family? Is the work commute really wearing you down? Do the local school systems match your needs? Be open and honest with yourself and your partner about how you feel about your environment and the qualities that your home needs to have.

Time for a change?

Regardless of whether you are planning a move across the UK or are looking to increase the liveable space of your current home, Rose Removals can help.
